Steve Nash made his first-ever NBA Finals appearance Tuesday, albeit as a special reporter for the “Late Show With David Letterman.”
Flown down to Orlando for Game 3 of the Finals between the Magic and Lakers, the two-time NBA MVP armed himself with a microphone and a camera crew to film segments for air on Wednesday’s episode of the late-night talk show.
After being oh-so-gently reminded by Dave he has yet to actually play in the Finals during his in-studio appearance, Steve got the chance to show off his special-correspondent skills with footage that included:
Being stopped by Amway Center security (who evidently don’t recognize an All-Star point guard when they see one) for not having the proper credentials
Talking shop with ESPN commentator ( and former Spur) Robert Horry
Getting a better perspective of the average NBA player’s height
Deciphering (or at least trying to) what kind of tips teammates share during pre-game warm-ups
Meeting up with filmmaker Spike Lee and Lakers great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Shying away from interviewing golfer Tiger Woods
Talking fan dedication with a Magic fan
Talking fashion (and favorite player rankings) with another Magic fanTo check out Steve’s “Late Night” appearance in its entirety, CLICK HERE!
