To borrow a quote from George Costanza, “I’m back, baby!”
For those of you who e-mailed to tell me how much you liked my blogs during the playoffs last spring, I apologize it’s taken me so long to pen a new entry.
As I told you in my last post, shortly after the Finals I believe, I was planning to keep my journal going throughout the summer.
Didn’t happen. But with the return of the Suns comes the return of my blog. But even better than that, I’ve brought friends with me this time. Lots of friends!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the launch of our new Suns.com blog site, the first of it’s kind in the NBA. As you can see from the lineup on the index page, we’ve recruited a whole roster of writers, who will check in from time to time this 2006-07 season.
Guard Marcus Banks and forward Sean Marks, our marquee bloggers, will present the players’ side of the season. Suns play-by-play man Tom Leander will offer his expert analysis on the team and the league. Several of the Suns’ Dancers are expected to contribute, providing the female perspective. And then there’s our “Road Crew,” consisting of athletic trainers Aaron Nelson (head) and Mike Elliott (asst.), strength coach Erick Phillips and equipment manager Jay Gaspar, who will take you behind the scenes.
As for my blog, I don’t know exactly what I’m going to give you this season. As a longtime writer for HOOP, Inside Stuff and SLAM magazine before those, I’ll probably give my opinions on the top headlines around the NBA. As a proud 14-year employee of the Suns’ organization, I’ll share some of my stories from the past and experiences in the present.
But as the lead editor of the Suns’ official site, I’m most excited about getting to interact with our readers on a regular basis. Let me know what you think of my blog entries. Let me know what you think of the overall blog section. Let me know what else you would like to see on Suns.com. Send me the good and the bad. I’m a big boy, I can take it.
And with that open invitation, I must say good night. It’s the night before we leave for Italy, and I’ve got to get up in a little over five hours to get ready.

I am a die hard phoenix suns fan from california ever since the kevin johnson days and barkley ainge, marjle, even in the jason kidd and marlbury who when played for the suns was a good teammate. But shawn marian is the manhood of the suns. phoenix would not be the same without him. He contributes all over. lets start with defence, rebounding, steals to start the fast break or finish them with a dunk or lay-up. He is athletic and those mantis arms can block shots and frustrate shooters. He plays hard every night and has been Mr.Consistant double double. his shooting beyond the permiter deserves respect also. He does alot of everything something hard to find a replacement with the heart and dedication to his job.You just cant ask players to do what he does on game by game performance.I feel he made me proud of the suns during even their losing seasons.shawn marion is deserving of an mvp if we have another winning season and he plays as well as he has.Its time to realize we have something no other team has in Shawn marion.
Tom Cavanaugh - Phoenix
Can't agree with you more. There's not a more versitile player in the league than Marion.
Erika - Phoenix
It's nice to finally hear people saying GOOD things about Marion. He is my favorite player and not a year goes by that I don't have put up with all these "fans" talking about how we're gonna trade him and get somebody good. I don't think these people watch the same Suns basketball that I do. I can't wait for the season to get under way.
Jeramie - Treviso
Hey guys... I couldn't agree with you all more. The Matrix is one of a kind, no doubt. He's a lock for the Suns' Ring of Honor and I, too, really hope he finishes his career here in Phoenix.
Danny - Glendale , CA
Ever since I saw the suns great playoff run in 1993 at the age of twelve , I was officially a suns fan , I hated the bulls teams of the nineties just like i hated the cowboys and the patriots dynasties! // Ive lived in Glendale my whole life , The lakers and clippers both used to suck back in the nineties so i became a suns fan with. Barkley , KJ , Dan Majerle , wesley person , danny ainge , AC GREEN, It still hurts to remember how for the two years since those olajuwon bastards from houston broke our hearts when we were up on them 2-0 and how the suns just couldnt put them away. WE SHOULDVE HAD THEIR RINGS, . I really do believe that suns will go all the way this year. I hope so because IM a Die HARD CHARGER FAN and we blew our best shot ever. GO SUNS !
